Drama at the Belgian GP: Russell disqualified, Hamilton wins
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has won the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. George Russell was disqualified after his car was found to be underweight.
The 14th leg of the Formula 1 World Championship season was held at the 7-kilometer Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, located in the town of Stavelot in the Liege province of Belgium.
George Russell, who started the Belgian Grand Prix in 6th place, crossed the finish line first but was disqualified after the race. George Russell's car was disqualified on the grounds that it did not comply with weight limits. The race victory at the 2024 Belgian GP went to Lewis Hamilton, who finished in second place.
Lewis Hamilton secured the 105th victory of his career.
