Drug-trafficking footballer Quincy Promes arrested in Dubai!

Dutch winger Quincy Promes was found guilty of complicity in drug trafficking and sentenced to 6 years in prison by an Amsterdam court last month. Promes, who plays for Spartak Moscow, was arrested in Dubai at the request of Dutch prosecutors.

The Amsterdam District Court ruled that Promes was involved in the import and export of hundreds of kilograms of drugs in 2020. The experienced footballer was detained while on a training camp in the United Arab Emirates but was initially released. However, he was re-arrested in Dubai following a request from Dutch prosecutors. Under an agreement between the two countries, Promes is expected to be extradited to the Netherlands.

Quincy Promes was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison last year for stabbing his cousin. This season, Promes has played a total of 21 matches in the league and cup for Spartak Moscow, contributing 8 goals and 8 assists. The Dutch player had previously played for Twente, Sevilla, and Ajax.
