Dursun Özbek is the sole candidate for Galatasaray presidency
It has been learned that current Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek will be the sole candidate in the Ordinary Elective General Assembly to be held on May 23, and that he has submitted his new board of directors list to the council of trustees.
Galatasaray, which is on the verge of reaching its 4th consecutive championship, will hold a presidential election on May 23. An important development has occurred regarding the Ordinary Elective General Assembly to be held at the end of the season.
Galatasaray Council of Trustees President Aykutalp Derkan announced that the election process has been completed, stating that no candidacy applications other than Dursun Özbek's were submitted. Derkan stated that the ballot paper will be red due to there being only one candidate.
On the other hand, it has been learned that Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has submitted his new board of directors list to the Council of Trustees.
The following names are included in Özbek's list:
“Full members: Metin Öztürk, Sedat Artukoğlu, Eray Yazgan, Can Natan, Mert Çetinkaya, Mehmet Cibara, Abdullah Kavukcu, Burak Kutluğ, Fatih Demircan, Özen Kuzu.
Substitute members: Bora Bahçetepe, Ozan Yurtsever, Emir Aral, Tanur Yılmaz, Ömer Sarıgül”
When is the election?
Galatasaray's ordinary election meeting will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Galatasaray High School Tevfik Fikret Hall; if a sufficient majority is not reached, the second meeting will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the same place and time.
