Dursun Özbek on the betting scandal: It is not encouraging

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek said, “These investigations and inquiries must be conducted as quickly as possible, and a decision must be reached. Galatasaray cannot accept such a thing. I believe that investigating and uncovering such a matter is also beneficial for Turkish football.”

Making statements regarding the referees found to have placed bets during the launch, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek noted that the situation is not encouraging. Özbek said the following about the betting scandal:

“There is not much to say about the betting. As an institution, we have explained our views to the Turkish football community and everyone through our announcements. It is truly unacceptable. We must wait for the conclusion of the investigation. The situation as it appears is not encouraging.

The Turkish Football Federation is handling this matter. We have announced that we will provide support at every level regarding this issue. It is beneficial for this to be concluded quickly. Because as you can see, this is being discussed not only in the Turkish press but also in the European press. I do not think this is in the interest of Turkish football.
