The excitement of the clay court season in tennis continues. One of the season's major tournaments, the Rome Masters, continued with its 3rd round matches.
The surprise of the day at the Italian Open came as world No. 1 Djokovic, who has triumphed here 6 times before, made an early exit from the tournament.
Facing his Chilean opponent Tabilo on Center Court, Djokovic lost the match, which lasted 1 hour and 7 minutes, 2-0 with sets of 6-2 and 6-3, bidding farewell to the tournament.
After the match, some spectators on Center Court were seen booing Djokovic.
Djokovic had also made headlines this year after his 2-0 victory over French player Corentin Moutet in the 2nd round of the Italian Open, when he suffered an injury after a water bottle fell from a spectator's bag and hit him on the head while he was signing autographs.
Yesterday at the Italian Open, Spanish player Rafael Nadal, who has won this tournament a record 10 times, was also eliminated in the 2nd round after losing 2-0 to Poland's Hubert Hurkacz with sets of 6-1 and 6-3.
