In the first season of the series 'Gibi', in the episode titled "Erasmus'la Gelen Yamyam" (The Cannibal Who Came with Erasmus), Ersoy's (Ahmet Kürşad Öçalan) grandmother (Aunt Serpil) was eaten by an Erasmus student.

That episode served as the breakout episode for the series and reached a wide audience.

Sharing on X, Ebrar Karakurt referenced the series following the victory against the "Netherlands," saying, "Ersoy's grandmother has been avenged."
