Ederson's wife criticizes fans: 'The fact that Fenerbahçe hasn't been champion in the past...'

Lais Moraes, the wife of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, who plays for Fenerbahçe, has issued a statement after criticism directed at her husband on social media extended to his family.

Stating that the insults directed at her, her husband, and their children are unacceptable, Moraes said, "It is very difficult for me to see insults directed at me, my family, my children, and my husband. They are the most important people in my life."

Addressing Fenerbahçe fans, Moraes also expressed her belief that the messages she received did not come solely from rival team supporters.

Noting that some of the criticism directed via social media came from people who had previously sent her messages of support, Moraes expressed her surprise at this situation. Stating that those who wish to can unfollow her, Moraes noted that she does not find it right for the arguments to continue in this manner.

Moraes reacted by saying, "Those who didn't want to could have unfollowed me and continued with their own lives. That is why I know this is not just rival team fans. And most of those writing these messages are adults who are aware of what they are saying."

Emphasizing in her post that she will not remain silent against disrespect, Moraes stated that she wants the arguments on social media to end and that she will continue to support her husband.

Saying, "I cannot carry the burden of Fenerbahçe not being champion in the past," Moraes concluded her statement with the words, "I am not someone who remains silent in the face of disrespect. That is why I ask you to stop trying to explain yourselves or argue under every post I make. My husband is currently at Fenerbahçe, and my support and good wishes will always be with him."
