Enes Ünal's statement on his injury: I experienced a huge disappointment

Bournemouth player and national team member Enes Ünal has made a noteworthy post regarding the injury he sustained.

In his post, Enes Ünal said, "For me, the biggest sacrifice was being away from my family and my 3-year-old daughter for days, weeks, and months. In the end, I reached the point I had hoped for and aimed for. At a point where I felt very good physically and mentally, I was one step away from touching my dreams. Whether you call it a twist of fate, destiny, or bad luck is up to you, but a week ago I experienced the biggest disappointment of my career. Going through such a 12-month period and then experiencing this makes you question everything you have done."

The statement made by Enes Ünal is as follows:

"12 months ago, I suffered one of the most severe injuries an athlete can experience. From the very first day, I set out on this path with great motivation, looking at this injury positively. One of the biggest reasons for this was the hope and goal of the European Championship. When I say hope, my national team career has not gone as I wanted until today, and looking back, it was my biggest disappointment. Small injuries at important moments, never quite finding my place, not being able to prove myself. There are not many people who know me closely, but those who truly know me know how stubborn I am and how I am a person who pushes boundaries. The national team is actually the best example that describes my character in this regard. When you have this mindset, you always work with the hope of the moment that turning point will come. The European Championship was the best possible scenario for this story to turn into a positive one.

I made great sacrifices, I even pushed boundaries I didn't know I had. When I say sacrifice, I never saw working hard as a sacrifice.
