Enis Destan: My goal is to win trophies with Trabzonspor and play in the Bundesliga

Trabzonspor's young forward Enis Destan gave an interview to the burgundy-blue club's magazine. Speaking about his transfer process to Trabzonspor, Destan said, "I was having a good season at Altınordu. During that process, like everyone else, I had dreams of playing in Europe and offers had started to come in. We were constantly discussing the developments with my family, my president, and my coaches. Right at that time, an offer came from Trabzonspor. If you receive an invitation from a very big club, you inevitably turn your direction there. That season, Trabzonspor was also playing for the championship. After the offer came, I made my decision in a very short time. When I look back, I see that I made the right decision because I am in the right place."

I EVEN PLAYED AS A CENTER-BACK

Stating that he played as a forward in lower age groups and went to Altınordu as a forward, but also recalling that he played in the center-back position due to the needs there, Destan said, "My coach started playing me as a center-back due to the need there. I think I was successful too, as it continued like that for a few seasons. But I always discussed this with my coach and my president; I was saying that I would be better as a forward. I would play as a forward before the season started, but when the matches began, I would switch to center-back again due to need and continue like that. Finally, when I was in the U17s, I played as a forward in a few matches at the beginning of the season again. When I performed very well this time, I finally stayed in the position I wanted. But even after being promoted to the A-team, I served as a center-back and a number 6 many times when we were ahead in matches and there was a need again. So, I am used to those positions. Now, if there is a need, I will do my best in defense. But the place where I am most efficient is, of course, the forward position," he said.

THE EXPERIENCE ABROAD TAUGHT ME A LOT

Regarding his time at the Polish team Warta Poznan, where he went on loan, the young forward said, "At first I struggled a lot, but afterwards it was excellent, I think. It taught me a lot at a young age. I practically collapsed psychologically. It was very bad for me for 2-3 months and I was almost going to give up on everything. But with the club's perspective and the help of my family and friends, I overcame this process and became even stronger afterwards. That resistance became a great experience at that age, and now I will not give up in any way, on any subject. It doesn't matter on or off the pitch: Struggle is my job. What I experienced in Poland added a lot to me both physically and mentally. I learned professionalism better. Maybe I didn't do much statistically, but I think I returned having made great progress in many aspects," he expressed.

MY GOAL IS THE BUNDESLIGA

Touching on his goals for the future, Enis Destan said, "I have many goals in the short term; as I achieve them, I get more motivated and this pulls me up. In the first stage, I want to lift new trophies with Trabzonspor, reach the goal and assist targets I have set, and achieve these one by one. I love Trabzonspor, this club, and this community very much. Apart from that, I also follow the matches of Altınordu and Bayern Munich with curiosity. I want to leave a mark here and then play in the Bundesliga, which I love very much," he stated.

I TRUST MY HEADERS

Explaining that he is a competitive player and emphasizing that he trusts his aerial play and headers, Destan said, "But I need to improve even more. Extra training is important for me. I focus on speed and agility work. In addition to finishing, being a wall and a passer as a forward is very important. At the end of training, I analyze this with my coaches. I watch on the screen to determine what I should and shouldn't do, and I work accordingly," he included.
