Our Turkish National Football Team started the tournament with a victory in their first match of the EURO 2024 Group F, defeating Georgia with goals from Arda Güler, Mert Müldür, and Kerem Aktürkoğlu.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called the National Football Team to congratulate them.

Following the match, Erdoğan spoke with Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Turkish Football Federation President Mehmet Büyükekşi, National Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella, and the Crescent-Star players Arda Güler and Kerem Aktürkoğlu.

Speaking first with Montella, President Erdoğan said, "We congratulate you and wish you happiness. There is a match against Portugal after this one. Montella invited President Erdoğan to the match against Portugal, which will be played on Saturday, June 22.

Speaking with Arda Güler, who played a key role in the victory with his stylish goal and was also named man of the match, Erdoğan said, "This will be one of the most beautiful goals of the championship. We look forward to more." The young player replied, "I hope there will be more to come."

Erdoğan also spoke with Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who scored the final goal of the match, congratulating the national player for his goal by saying, "You evaluated the goalkeeper's advance well. I congratulate you."

On the other hand, Erdoğan celebrated the birthday of Vincenzo Montella, who turned 50 today. The Italian coach remarked, "I could not have received a better gift today."

While Minister Bak conveyed the greetings of all the players to Erdoğan, Erdoğan ended the call by saying, "I kiss them all on their eyes."
