While circles close to the government have made insinuations of a "coup attempt" regarding the lieutenants, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also targeted the lieutenants in a statement he made on the matter.

"WHO ARE YOU DRAWING THESE SWORDS AT?"

Speaking at the 21st Imam Hatip Graduates Assembly, Erdoğan used the following expressions:

"Recently, at a certain graduation ceremony, some opportunists emerged and drew swords. Who are you drawing these swords at? Now, all necessary investigations are being conducted regarding them as well. Those few ignorant people there will be cleared out."
