Ergin Ataman's Panathinaikos closes the season with a double trophy

The champion of the 2023-24 season in the Greek Basketball League is Panathinaikos, under the management of Ergin Ataman. Panathinaikos lost the first game of the series to Olympiacos at home 89-84 and the second game away 92-86.

Ataman's players defeated their opponent 83-76 at home in the 3rd game of the series to bring the series to 2-1, and won 88-85 away in the 4th game to tie it at 2-2.

The green-and-whites defeated Olympiacos 87-82 at home in the final game of the series, which was a fierce battle from start to finish, to become the Greek League champions. With this championship, Panathinaikos has achieved the success of winning the trophy for the 40th time.

A DOUBLE TROPHY FOR ATAMAN

Turkish coach Ergin Ataman completed his first season with Panathinaikos as both EuroLeague and Greek League champion. Finishing the season with a double trophy, Ataman had previously achieved the success of winning both the Turkish Basketball League and the EuroLeague with A. Efes in the 2020-2021 season.

Panathinaikos point guard Kostas Sloukas, who once played for Fenerbahçe, delivered a performance of 29 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist against his former team, Olympiacos. Sloukas, who was the top scorer of the match with his performance, also wore the Olympiacos jersey during his career.
