Doğan made very harsh statements regarding the match referee, Batuhan Kolak, and the Central Referee Board (MHK).
Ertuğrul Doğan's statements are as follows:
"We have a new coach. First of all, I would like to thank him for his upright stance. Many people were actually hesitant to come to this match. In every statement he made, our coach mentioned that being here is a great opportunity. He made a very good start. His energy is very positive. This energy is reflected in us and in the players as well. I say welcome to our Trabzon. We haven't had much of a chance to talk; we were only able to meet once today."
"YOU SEE IT, WHY DON'T YOU CALL IT?"
"I made a comment about the referees during the week. I am trying to choose my words carefully. There is a TFF president who is making a great sacrifice; he is doing everything for the development of Turkish football in every aspect. He showed that he stands by the clubs during the broadcasting rights tender meeting.
We respect our young referees. My friend, my dear brother; there is a red card incident in the 80th minute. The player is hitting to break the other player's leg, 2 meters in front of you. He is officially hitting to break it. Why don't you give a red card! Everyone saw that he saw the position very clearly. Why don't you give it! Why are you leaving this doubt in people's minds? Everyone is putting in the effort, there is no foul play, everyone is doing their job. Why are you ignoring it? You see it and you don't give it. You are giving me the right to speak. I am warning these friends. They need to be careful with their actions. They cannot go anywhere with this mindset. I am speaking for their future as well. Such a thing cannot happen. Give what you see on the field, my friend. When you don't see such a kick, what happens is you lose people's respect, nothing else."
"DISTRIBUTE GLASSES TO THE REFEREES"
"I am calling out to the MHK President; we have invited him to resign many times. We say that since the esteemed TFF president is in favor of him staying, he must know something. I am closing the subject there. Please, let him take his referees aside; whether he will give these friends glasses or if there is a problem with their eyes, something happens to these friends' eyes during Trabzonspor matches, something happens. If it weren't for VAR, they wouldn't give a red card for such a position. Let them not do it to me, let them not do it to Galatasaray, let them not do it to other teams either. It is a pity, it is a sin!"
"WE WILL COMPLETE OUR DEFICIENCIES DURING THE MID-SEASON BREAK"
"When we were building this squad, our only thought was how we could make our fans happier. We have deficiencies, we will complete them during the mid-season break. Let our fans support us until the transfer period. We will do our best, and together we will march to the top."
"SALAH IS A WORLD STAR"
"Salah is a world star! Beyond being a world star, his character is truly stellar. He has an incredible character. He is a very humble person. His only concern right now is getting used to the city. We can't go, but he is out in the highlands. Thank goodness, he is also promoting the city. He is a very decent and good person. We have a very young squad, there are very valuable young players. Salah plays a very important role model for the development of these players. Salah is not just a transfer; he is a contribution to the city's vision. It is a message to the children of Trabzonspor! Since the day Salah arrived, he has been delivering, thank goodness."
