According to the statement on the organization's website, James was chosen as the 2023-2024 season MVP as a result of voting by fans, media, head coaches, and team captains.
Winning this award for the first time in his career, Mike James averaged 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game during the regular season.
James, the scorer for Monaco, which finished the regular season in 3rd place and was eliminated by Fenerbahçe Beko in the playoffs, ranked third in the league in efficiency rating with 19.4 points per game.
James, who was also selected for the All-EuroLeague First Team, managed to become the highest-scoring player in EuroLeague history by surpassing former Greek basketball player Vassilis Spanoulis in the match against Crvena Zvezda.
