Explosive claim from Erdal Alkış: 'Mehmet Büyükekşi threatened me'
Erdal Alkış, whose TFF candidacy was rejected, stated that Mehmet Büyükekşi threatened him, alleging that he did not carry out the work Büyükekşi wanted.
Turkish Football Federation presidential candidate Erdal Alkış, whose candidacy was rejected due to 'missing documents,' made a statement on Halk TV.
Alkış claimed that the current president and candidate for re-election, Mehmet Büyükekşi, had threatened him.
Alkış stated the following:
Mehmet Bey is someone we have known for a long time. When I did not carry out the work he wanted done in his name during the earthquake, he told me, 'I will finish you in the media.' This statement is not something a federation president should make. He threatened me from the TFF press conference. These threats did not end; they also came from numbers starting with +32 and +33. These threats are related to how the current system operates.”
Stating that his candidacy was rejected due to missing documents, Alkış claimed that the documents he had were not incomplete, saying, “When I went to meet with the Secretary General, our petition was already sitting on his desk. This was a planned process.”
Alkış said, "Even those who are voting for the current administration today, many of them are voting under duress. They did not want the current federation either.”
ELECTION ON JULY 18
The TFF presidential election will be held at the general assembly on July 18. While current president Mehmet Büyükekşi is a candidate once again, former Trabzonspor President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu is another individual whose candidacy has been accepted.
Servet Yardımcı, who was also a candidate for the TFF presidency, announced last week that he was withdrawing from the race, claiming that a conspiracy had been set up against him.
