Fatih Karagümrük supports TFF's betting investigation
Trendyol Süper Lig team Fatih Karagümrük issued a statement saying, "As a club, we support the decision taken by the TFF to refer a total of 1,024 football players, including 2 of our own players, one of whom is from our youth academy, to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK)."
The Turkish Football Federation has announced the names of 1,024 football players identified as having engaged in betting as part of an investigation into professional leagues, and has referred these individuals to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK). Fatih Karagümrük Club also shared a post on its social media account regarding the matter, which included the following statements:
"As a club, we support the decision taken by the Turkish Football Federation Board of Directors to refer a total of 1,024 football players, including 2 of our own players, one of whom is from our youth academy, to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) in accordance with Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions, and we hereby inform the public that we stand behind this decision.
We expect this process, which has been initiated in Turkish football, to be deepened with determination, transparency, and in line with the principles of justice; and we expect all individuals and institutions involved in these violations to be fully identified and face the necessary sanctions. Furthermore, we would like to remind that the presumption of innocence must be observed during this process and that no football player should be subjected to unfair accusations. Our club will continue to stand behind every step taken to protect fair competition, honesty, and sportsmanship."
