In the Ziraat Turkish Cup semi-final, Trabzonspor defeated Gençlerbirliği 2-1 away from home to reach the final.
Speaking at the press conference held after the match, Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke said, "We are very happy to be in the final again. Despite all our damage, despite it being a difficult match, and despite us being very poor in terms of play; it was quite valuable to get the score once we added a bit of weight and initiative to our game in the final part of the second half.
But when we look at the league as a whole, reaching the cup final during this period is important. We want the cup very much. We want to bring it to our community and our museum. We have a very serious enthusiasm for this internally.
Now we have a new match this weekend. There are players who need to return, and there are injured players. We have players you think are healthy but who only want to sit on the bench.
Therefore, we have a match this weekend. Afterwards, we will prepare for the cup final with everything we have," he said.
