Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray in Pot 3 for Champions League: Potential opponents revealed
With Fenerbahçe eliminating Lyon, the draw pots for our representatives, who have joined Galatasaray in the Champions League league phase, have been finalized.
Fenerbahçe advanced to the league phase of the UEFA Champions League by defeating French side Lyon in the play-off round. The yellow-navies won the second leg 2-1 after a 1-1 draw in the first match, securing their ticket to the Champions League.
With this result, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will represent Turkey in the Champions League in the same season for the first time in 18 years. Both teams will enter the league phase draw from Pot 3.
DRAW TO BE HELD IN MONACO
The 2026-2027 Champions League league phase matchups will be determined by the draw taking place today in Monaco. The draw will begin at 19:00 Turkish time and will be broadcast live on TRT.
In the new format, teams will be paired with two opponents from each pot. Our representatives will play one match against each of these opponents, one at home and one away. Teams that finish the league phase in the top 8 will qualify directly for the round of 16; teams between 9th and 24th place will play a play-off round for the round of 16.
