Fenerbahçe decides on Bertuğ Yıldırım instead of Umut Nayır and Serdar Dursun
Fenerbahçe, continuing its transfer efforts for the 2024-25 season, has taken a step toward signing domestic striker Bertuğ Yıldırım.
Fenerbahçe, which is continuing its training camp in Austria with Jose Mourinho, has accelerated its transfer activities.
Bertuğ Yıldırım was most recently included in the EURO 2024 squad but did not find an opportunity to play.
According to a report by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu from Sports Digitale; Fenerbahçe has begun official negotiations with Rennes and Bertuğ Yıldırım.
The 21-year-old, 1.91-meter-tall Bertuğ is expected to become Fenerbahçe's third-choice striker and domestic backup.
BERTUĞ INSTEAD OF UMUT AND SERDAR
Bertuğ Yıldırım, who transferred from Hatayspor to Rennes for a fee of 5.4 million euros, has a current market value of 3.5 million euros and is under contract until 2028.
It has been suggested that Bertuğ is being considered as a replacement for Serdar Dursun, who joined the team on loan last season and will not be re-signed, and Umut Nayır, who is being scouted by five clubs.
