Statement from Fenerbahçe regarding extraordinary congress
Fenerbahçe Sports Club has issued a statement regarding the visit of former president Ali Koç to current president Sadettin Saran. The Yellow-Navy club announced that claims suggesting Ali Koç called for an extraordinary congress during the meeting do not reflect the truth.
Former Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç paid a visit to club president Sadettin Saran to show his support.
During the visit, which took place at the club headquarters on December 26, Ali Koç was accompanied by Alper Alpoğlu, who was responsible for legal affairs in the previous administration.
Following this meeting, claims surfaced in the public domain suggesting that Ali Koç had advised Sadettin Saran to hold an extraordinary congress. However, Fenerbahçe Club has clearly denied these allegations.
The statement issued by the club regarding the visit included the following:
"Contrary to some claims in the public domain, the visit paid by our former president, Mr. Ali Koç, to our president, Mr. Sadettin Saran, today was purely a courtesy visit and consisted of an exchange of views regarding the present and future of Fenerbahçe.
We kindly inform the public not to give credence to comments and evaluations made outside of this framework."
