Fenerbahçe gains advantage for Champions League

Fenerbahçe secured a significant advantage ahead of the return leg by defeating Austrian side Sturm Graz 2-0 at home.

Starting the match at Chobani Stadium with pressure, Fenerbahçe found the goal they were looking for in the 9th minute.

Following a pass from Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Anderson Talisca met the ball in the penalty area and scored with a classy finish to make it 1-0.

GREENWOOD OPENS HIS ACCOUNT

The Yellow-Navies doubled the lead in the 45th minute. Following a pass from Marco Asensio, Mason Greenwood struck from outside the penalty area to make the score 2-0.

Greenwood also scored his first goal in a Fenerbahçe jersey against Sturm Graz.

The first half of the match ended with Fenerbahçe leading 2-0.

Although both Fenerbahçe and Sturm Graz created danger in the opponent's goal in the second half, no further goals were scored, and Fenerbahçe won the match 2-0, gaining a serious advantage for the tie.

RETURN LEG TO BE PLAYED ON AUGUST 11

The return leg of this tie will be played in Austria on Tuesday, August 11.

If Fenerbahçe eliminates Sturm Graz, they will face the winner of the Sparta Prague - Lyon tie in the play-off round.
