Fenerbahçe guarantees 18.62 million euros in revenue with Champions League ticket

Fenerbahçe advanced to the league phase of the UEFA Champions League by defeating Lyon 2-1 away in the play-off round. Having drawn 1-1 in the first leg in Istanbul, the yellow-navies secured a 3-2 aggregate victory, guaranteeing significant financial gains alongside their sporting success.

According to UEFA's distribution system for the 2026/27 season, each of the 36 teams that qualify for the Champions League league phase will receive a fixed participation fee of 18.62 million euros. Therefore, the first guaranteed revenue for Fenerbahçe resulting from their participation in the competition will be 18.62 million euros.

REVENUE IS NOT LIMITED TO PARTICIPATION FEES

The total revenue Fenerbahçe will earn from UEFA will not consist solely of the fixed participation payment. Clubs also receive a share from the revenue category known as the "value pillar." This calculation takes into account factors such as past performance, club coefficient, and the broadcast and commercial market values of the respective countries.

The total amount allocated to this category for the Champions League is 853 million euros. Fenerbahçe's share from this will be finalized after the coefficients of other clubs in the league phase and the relevant distribution calculations are completed.

The yellow-navies will also be able to earn additional bonuses based on their results in the league phase. Wins, draws, the final ranking in the league phase, and advancing to subsequent rounds are among the factors that will increase the club's UEFA revenue.

In UEFA's 2026/27 budget, 78 percent of the revenue generated from club competitions is projected to be distributed to the teams participating in the organizations. Additionally, 455 million euros have been set aside for solidarity payments. This resource will support areas such as women's club football and the UEFA Youth League, as well as clubs that could not qualify for the league phases of UEFA organizations.

According to UEFA regulations, when the gross revenue generated from central stages is up to 4.4 billion euros, 93.5 percent of it is allocated to clubs and 6.5 percent to UEFA. A total of 30 million euros is distributed to clubs eliminated in the play-off round; Fenerbahçe will benefit from the revenues allocated for teams that reached the league phase instead of this pool.
