Eyüpspor took the lead in the 26th minute of the match played at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium. Mame Thiam headed down a ball lofted from his own half by Caner Erkin into the path of Ahmed Kutucu. Ahmed Kutucu scored with his strike to put his team 1-0 ahead.

Fenerbahçe found the equalizer in the 45+4th minute. Youssef En-Nesyri scored to make it 1-1 with a strike from a well-placed cross by Filip Kostic into the penalty area.

Eyüpspor manager Arda Turan protested intensely, claiming that a foul was committed on Caner Erkin before Fenerbahçe's goal by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 45+4th minute. Arda Turan was shown a red card due to his protests.
