In the 6th week of the UEFA Europa League, Fenerbahçe hosted the Spanish side Athletic Bilbao at home.

Athletic Bilbao took a 1-0 lead in the 5th minute of the match played at Ülker Stadium. Inaki Williams scored the opening goal following an attack that developed after a major error by Samet Akaydın.

The Spanish team doubled the lead in the 45th minute. Inaki Williams met a pass from Oihan Sancet on the right side of the penalty area, and his shot hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net.

The first half of the match ended with Athletic Bilbao leading 2-0.

In the 69th minute of the match, Mert Müldür was shown a second yellow card followed by a red card for a foul on Inaki Williams, leaving his team with 10 men.
