Fenerbahçe reported to UEFA
A far-right politician from Southern Cyprus has filed a complaint with UEFA over TRNC advertisements displayed during a Fenerbahçe match.
Evgenios Hamboullas, a member of the far-right National Popular Front (ELAM) in the Greek Cypriot Administration, has filed a complaint with UEFA, citing the "Come to Northern Cyprus" advertising boards displayed at the stadium during the Champions League third qualifying round match between Fenerbahçe and Feyenoord.
According to reports in the Greek Cypriot press, Hamboullas claimed that these advertisements, which appeared during the match held at the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex in Istanbul, contained "political propaganda." In the letter he sent to UEFA, he stated that similar advertisements should not be permitted in any stadiums across Europe and demanded that measures be taken regarding this matter.
Hamboullas previously served as a member of parliament for the Democratic Rally (DISY) and joined the far-right ELAM at the beginning of this year, becoming a parliamentary candidate from Limassol.
