Fenerbahçe's 'Ali Koç' response to Galatasaray! 'In order to consolidate their own community...'

It had been alleged that former Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç threatened Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk.

"ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE PUBLIC

We find the statement made by Galatasaray Sports Club regarding our former president, Mr. Ali Koç, unacceptable. We categorically reject the creation of artificial polemics over Mr. Ali Koç for the purpose of consolidating their own community; we do not find it appropriate for our former president to be made the subject of off-field discussions.

It is clear that in recent times, an attempt has been made to create a perception in the Turkish sports community through off-field rhetoric. Our club stands against this mentality; just as it did yesterday, today it continues to focus solely on the pitch, sporting competition, and a struggle based on effort.

What Turkish sports needs is not statements that escalate tension, pit communities against each other, and aim to create polemics in the public eye; but common sense, responsibility, and moderation.

Our club will continue to fulfill its responsibility, as it has done until now, with determination to ensure that sports remain on the pitch, that competition is conducted on the basis of sportsmanship, and that Turkish sports develop in an environment of peace."

GALATASARAY'S STATEMENT

Galatasaray's statement was as follows:

"The sports of this country is tired of you, Ali Koç!

The true face of those who spoke in the past about bringing justice, transparency, and cleanliness to football has been revealed once again today.

The fact that Koç Holding Deputy Chairman of the Board Ali Koç threatened our manager Okan Buruk is not only a crime; it is also the final point reached by a dark way of thinking that tries to drag competition on football pitches to other places.

It is clearly evident that what this "bully" is doing, using the power and confidence of being a member of one of Turkey's largest holdings to recklessly attack everyone, will be neither the first nor the last.

This insolent behavior clearly shows us who is trying to orchestrate the dirty project that is intended to be played out over Galatasaray Sports Club today.

This individual, who could not defeat Galatasaray on the pitch and lost his seat due to this failure, is working to hinder our club's progress with the power his family possesses now that he has left his post.

All of Turkey should know that this threat made to our manager Okan is a threat made to Galatasaray Sports Club.

We hereby announce to the entire public that we will stand by Okan Buruk to the end against what this individual is trying to do behind the scenes.

The influences under which this pathological case, who constantly repeats actions that a healthy person should not perform in a social environment, is acting and the insidious plans he is attempting to carry out must be investigated immediately.

We invite the Koç family, the public, and the authorities of our state to take action to bring this individual under control as soon as possible.

And today we ask him clearly:

Do you think you can overpower the Galatasaray community with this immoral war you have started by taking Koç Holding behind you?

Do you think you are superior to the people of this country?
