Fenerbahçe's potential opponents in the UEFA Champions League play-off round have been clarified. The yellow-navies advanced to the third qualifying round after defeating Gornik Zabrze 1-0 in the first leg of the second qualifying round and drawing 1-1 in the return leg.
Fenerbahçe will face Austrian side Sturm Graz in the third qualifying round. The first leg of the tie will be played in Istanbul on August 5, and the return leg will be played in Austria on August 11.
If the yellow-navy team eliminates Sturm Graz, they will advance to the play-off round, which is the final stage before the league phase. In this round, Fenerbahçe's opponent will be one of the winners of the Lyon-Sparta Prague tie or the Union SG-Bodo Glimt tie.
The draw for the play-off round will take place on August 3. The first legs of the round will be played on August 18-19, and the return legs will be played on August 25-26.
Teams that pass the play-off stage will earn the right to participate in the UEFA Champions League league phase.
