Fenerbahçe's starting 11 takes shape: İsmail Kartal’s plan for the Roma match revealed

As Fenerbahçe prepares to host Roma in their first match of the Champions League league phase, head coach İsmail Kartal is expected to make a significant change to his attacking setup.

The Yellow-Navy Blues are continuing their preparations for the match, which will be played at Chobani Stadium on Thursday, September 10, at 19:45. According to a report by Sabah, Kartal plans to deploy Mason Greenwood in the number 10 position to replace Marco Asensio, who will miss the Roma match due to injury.

The report states that Greenwood has been tested in the center during training sessions. İrfan Can Kahveci had played in that position during Fenerbahçe's recent Süper Lig derby against Beşiktaş.

It was reported that with Greenwood moving to the number 10 role, Fenerbahçe aims for a more productive structure in runs behind the defense and around the penalty area. It was noted that Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Nene are planned to start on the wings against Roma.

Nene, who has come on as a substitute in matches played this season, will make his first start of the season in the yellow-navy jersey if he is included in the starting 11 against Roma.
