Fenerbahçe shifts gears again for Lookman
The Yellow-Navy Blues have resumed contacts to add Atalanta player Ademola Lookman to their squad. They are focusing on a payment plan for the 35 million Euro transfer fee.
Fenerbahçe continues its efforts to strengthen its squad during the winter transfer window. The club has accelerated its pursuit of Nigerian star Ademola Lookman, who has also been on Galatasaray's radar for a long time.
The transfer, which had previously been shelved due to the high demands of the Italian club Atalanta, has entered a new negotiation process between the parties.
According to a report by Di Marzio, while it was stated that the Atalanta management had set a price between 45 and 50 million Euros for the player, it has been learned that this figure was lowered to the 35 million Euro level in recent contacts. Fenerbahçe's transfer committee wants to finalize the deal with a loan model that includes a mandatory purchase option and a payment schedule, rather than paying this amount upfront.
It is reported that negotiations are continuing around a formula where the transfer fee is paid in installments and with performance-based bonuses. The Yellow-Navy club aims to balance the financial burden with this method and bring Ademola Lookman to Istanbul in the near future. If the talks conclude positively, the Nigerian footballer is expected to sign before the transfer window closes.
