Fenerbahçe statement on Mason Greenwood: '50 million Euro' document is fake
Fenerbahçe has announced that the document claiming a transfer fee of 50 million Euros for Mason Greenwood is fake.
Fenerbahçe has responded to claims circulating on social media regarding the transfer fee of Mason Greenwood, who joined the squad during the summer transfer window. The yellow-navy club stated that the document showing a transfer fee of 50 million Euros does not reflect the truth.
In the statement made by the club, it was noted that, as stated in the notification made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on July 14, 2026, from Olympique de Marseille, Greenwood was transferred for a fee of 39 million Euros.
''The document showing Mason Greenwood's transfer fee as 50 million Euros, which has been circulated on social media, is fake.''
Fenerbahçe emphasized that as a publicly traded company, it is essential to inform the public and investors accurately. The statement expressed that the dissemination of misleading information through fake documents regarding the company's financial transactions is unacceptable.
The club announced that it has filed a complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against those who produced and circulated the document in question, as well as those it stated made false claims based on this document. The name of Necati Ateş was also specifically mentioned in the statement.
Fenerbahçe also invited the Capital Markets Board to conduct the necessary investigations regarding the fake document, which it stated has the potential to mislead investors, and to initiate proceedings within the scope of its authority.
