Fenerbahçe submits postponement request to TFF
Fenerbahçe management has submitted a request to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to postpone their first-week Süper Lig match against Alanyaspor.
The reason cited for the application is the intensity placed on the players due to having to play three challenging matches within 6 days: the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round away match against Feyenoord on August 6, followed by the Alanyaspor match on August 9, and the return leg on August 12.
Fenerbahçe, which wants to be fully focused on these matches that are also important for the country's coefficient, also informed the TFF of precedents from past seasons where UEFA matches were scheduled closely between league fixtures.
How the TFF will respond to this request and whether a decision to postpone will be made will be determined within 2 days.
