Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso has signed a contract extension with Aston Martin through 2026.
Formula 1 team Aston Martin has signed a new contract with Spanish driver Fernando Alonso.
In a statement released by Aston Martin, it was announced that Alonso, a two-time F1 champion, will remain with the team until the end of the 2026 season.
Alonso, who returned to F1 in 2021 with the Alpine team after leaving in 2018, transferred to Aston Martin in 2023.
Having participated in a total of 384 Grand Prix races in F1, Alonso stands out as the most experienced name in the organization.
The 42-year-old Spanish driver is also the oldest driver on the grid for the 2024 season.
