Feyyaz Uçar's statement on 'Di Maria': Will he sign?
Beşiktaş Board Member Feyyaz Uçar stated that Argentine player Angel Di Maria is not currently on their agenda.
Speaking to members of the press following the Ziraat Turkish Cup match against MKE Ankaragücü, Uçar said, "Di Maria is not on the list prepared by Samet Aybaba. I don't know if he will be on the list of the incoming coach. This does not mean it won't happen. We want to build a team that will play for the title next year. These players could be considered as targeted transfers."
Stating that they have begun work for the next season, Uçar said, "Today's match was very important. After this match, we have to plan for the next season. There are many names on our list, and our coach has not been determined yet. The president's efforts are ongoing. We have been instructed not to make an announcement regarding the coach until the 23rd. We will try to comply with this. Work regarding player transfers will continue."
Expressing that they are happy to have reached the final, Uçar noted, "We thank our fans who filled every seat and supported us throughout the match. They took the call we made before the match seriously. They showed that Beşiktaş fans are there even in bad times. We needed a victory like this. We thank the fans first, and then those who contributed. Muçi was a mid-season transfer, and his adaptation did not take long. He started on the left today and continued in the middle. He is a talented player. We think he will make a great contribution next season; we are satisfied with him."
Regarding the city where the cup final will be played, Uçar said, "We would play in any city in our country; we would be honored. Every stadium in the country is suitable for us. No matter which stadium it is, we will do our best."
