FIBA announces: Matches will be played on a glass floor!

Serbia's capital, Belgrade, will host the Basketball Champions League Final Four, where matches will be played on a glass floor.

According to the statement made by the organization, the ASB glass floor will be used at the Belgrade Arena for the Basketball Champions League Final Four, which will take place from April 26-28 and feature Peristeri from Greece, and Lenovo Tenerife, UCAM Murcia, and Unicaja from Spain.

IT WAS ALSO USED IN THE NBA ALL-STAR

Thus, for the first time in an international club tournament, matches will be played on a glass floor equipped with LED panels.

The glass floor application, which was first implemented last summer at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup, had previously been used in the German League's season-opening game and the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.

In the statement made by the organization regarding the subject, it was noted that the ASB glass floor is the latest example of the "expanding the FIBA family" project, stating: "This state-of-the-art floor brings a revolutionary impact to the match experience by providing space for interactive applications and incorporating player tracking features. Additionally, live statistics can be displayed on the floor to strengthen interaction and communication with basketball fans. The ASB glass floor is an unprecedented opportunity for those following the matches in the arena and on television. Players who have experienced this before have become the most passionate supporters of the glass floor. Players at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup emphasized in their evaluations of the glass floor that it provides a grip similar to a hardwood floor and minimizes noise."

The Final Four match schedule for the tournament (TRT) is as follows:

Friday, April 26:

19.00 Lenovo Tenerife - Peristeri

22.00 UCAM Murcia - Unicaja

Sunday, April 28:

18.00 Third-place match

21.00 Final
