FIFA imposes sexual harassment ban on Overmars

After signing with Royal Antwerp, Overmars continued his career in Belgium as the director of football. Meanwhile, Marc Overmars, who was under investigation by the Netherlands Institute for Sports Law (ISR), was recently handed a two-year ban from the football world, with one year suspended.

The ISR ruled that during his time at Ajax, Overmars failed to comply with the rule to "refrain from sexual harassment through any means of communication" and therefore violated sexual harassment regulations.

Since this ban received in the Netherlands was not applicable in Belgium, Overmars continued his managerial role at Royal Antwerp.
Following this, the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) referred the file to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.

In a statement to the Dutch media, FIFA announced that Overmars's ban would be enforced globally.
This announcement means that the 50-year-old Overmars will no longer be able to continue his duties at Royal Antwerp.

According to Belgian media, Overmars will be forced to leave his post by November. The Royal Antwerp club announced that it would make a statement after reviewing FIFA's decision.
