12 PEOPLE APPREHENDED

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that, according to initial findings, 12 people have been apprehended and taken into custody.

While the repercussions of the dark night continue, FIFA President Gianni Infantino did not remain silent about the events.

Stating that there is no place for violence on or off the pitch, Infantino used the following expressions in a statement he made on his social media account;

"The violence witnessed after the Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match is absolutely unacceptable; it has no place in our sport or society, on or off the pitch. I have said it before, and I will say it again; all players in football must be safe and secure to play a game that brings so much joy to so many people all over the world. I call on the relevant authorities to ensure that this is respected at all levels and to ensure that the perpetrators of the shocking events in Trabzon are held accountable for their actions."
