The FIFA World Cup has arrived in Turkey
The FIFA World Cup, recognized globally as the most valuable symbol of football, arrived in Istanbul on January 6th aboard a specially prepared aircraft as part of the FIFA World Cup Tour organized by Coca-Cola, an official FIFA sponsor. Accompanied by legendary Italian footballer Fabio Cannavaro, the original trophy was displayed at a special event attended by players who achieved third place with the Turkish National Team in the 2002 FIFA World Cup, veteran figures from the sports world, and invited guests.
The World Cup, brought to Turkey as part of the FIFA World Cup Tour, brought together famous Italian player Fabio Cannavaro and well-known figures of Turkish football.
The FIFA World Cup, the most valuable symbol of football, will be exhibited in 30 countries during its 150-day journey. The next stop for the FIFA World Cup, which was brought to Turkey from Egypt as part of the tour, will be Vienna.
Speaking at the event, Coca-Cola Turkey General Manager Gaye Sunerli stated the following:
"We are very happy to bring the Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Tour, which we are organizing for the sixth time this year, to Turkey, one of the countries where the excitement and enthusiasm for football are experienced most intensely. We believe in the unifying power of sports. The strong cooperation we have maintained with FIFA for nearly half a century is one of the most concrete indicators of this belief. The Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Tour is one of the most special and visible meeting points of this long-term collaboration."
Fabio Cannavaro, one of FIFA's legendary footballers, expressed his pleasure at being in Turkey and used the following expressions:
"It is a wonderful feeling for me to be in Istanbul as part of the FIFA World Cup Tour sponsored by Coca-Cola. Being here today with football fans is truly very exciting."
