Fikret Orman throws down the gauntlet to Ahmet Nur Çebi!

Former Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman has made striking statements. Responding to questions from Ercan Taner on Sözcü TV, Fikret Orman launched a harsh attack on the current president, Ahmet Nur Çebi.

"A BEŞİKTAŞ PRESIDENT DOES NOT SEEK PITY"

Fikret Orman stated: "I did not take over Beşiktaş from the Dolmabahçe Palace. I took it over from the Çağlayan Courthouse. Over 450 million in debt, 70 million in revenue, 140 million dollars in expenses, 5 million dollars in cash flow. There was no stadium, no revenue. I became president when the community had no hope left. On the first day, I said, 'We are the biggest in Turkey.' We are the biggest in Turkey. A Beşiktaş president does not seek pity. A Beşiktaş president does not cry, does not play the victim. We built a stadium with money we didn't have. We won championships. We achieved success in Europe. We increased the brand value."

"A VERY GOOD PERCEPTION OPERATION"

Continuing his remarks, Orman said: "Our rival Abdürrahim Albayrak made a statement, saying, 'We stopped Beşiktaş.' We had been champions for two years, 3-4-5 were coming, and operations against Beşiktaş began. The 'Where is the money?' chants are a very good perception operation."

HARSH WORDS FOR AHMET NUR ÇEBİ

The former Beşiktaş president declared: "Does a Beşiktaş president seek pity? A Beşiktaş president is a strong person; they do not bend, they do not break, they do not cry! These are typical third-rate, second-man tactics. There is always a sense of victimhood. This is a club that has come down from the likes of Baba Hakkı and Süleyman Seba. We are the biggest club in Turkey. Ahmet Nur Çebi was the second president for 6.5 years. He was the Chairman of the Executive Committee. He had signing authority. How can he know nothing about anything? They have officially cherry-picked Çebi's name from the reports. His name only appeared 8 times, and he was responsible for 2 of them. Can such a thing be possible? After sitting in the chair, he just said, 'I don't know anything about anything.' Well, what were you doing there then?"

CRITICISM OF BEŞİKTAŞ FANS REGARDING THE FENERBAHÇE MATCH

Orman said: "We had a Fenerbahçe match in the cup. We did not go out for that match based on a decision by the Board of Trustees. If it were today, I still wouldn't go out for that match. In that process, the Beşiktaş fans are what saddened me the most. They were saying, 'Don't go out for that match, don't be champions for 10 years.' All of that was forgotten in a very short time."

"I REGRET THE RESPECT I SHOWED ÇEBİ"

Giving an example with the saying that those who lack power are whiny and those who have it are ruthless, Orman said: "When I went to the extraordinary general assembly, I had said at the first stage that I would talk to Ahmet Nur Çebi. When I wanted to go to the meeting, I said, 'You are my elder, I will come to you,' and I went to his office. He didn't say 'I am uncomfortable with these things' there either. He said, 'If you don't include Umut and Şafak in the management, I will join the management.' I said, 'As you wish.' Men like this are always the same. Whining and victimhood when there is no power, and ruthlessness when power is in their hands. I regret the respect I showed Ahmet Nur Çebi. A conspiracy was set up against me directly. We went to China, and an incident happened. Because they are not Beşiktaş fans like me, they don't know. Beşiktaş has a vision. I have a style. I don't dig pits behind people's backs. I don't know about opening troll accounts. I will go on a broadcast with Ahmet Nur Çebi."

PLAYER SALES

Stating that Beşiktaş has fallen behind its rivals in terms of player sales recently, Fikret Orman said: "I looked today, Fenerbahçe has sold 118 million euros worth of players in 4 years. Fenerbahçe didn't become champion. Brand value? Player selection! Galatasaray also sold 40 million worth. Fenerbahçe sold 55 million euros worth in the last 1 year. What players has Beşiktaş sold in 4 years? 2 young kids I raised, and the kid who left of his own accord this year, 2.5 million euros. They sold a total of 12.5 million euros worth. The team that became champion with Şenol Güneş is not a team prepared by Şenol Güneş. Samet Hoca and Slaven Bilic have a lot of effort in it."

"WHERE IS THE MONEY?"

Criticizing the management's transfer policy by giving the Dele Alli example, Orman said: "When we bought 50 percent of N'Koudou for 4 million euros, they criticized us, saying, 'Can you buy 50 percent of a player?' Has the player you bought from İstanbulspor played in the Premier League or France, let alone the Süper Lig? You gave 2 million euros for 50 percent. Where is the money? They brought Dele Alli. They are making transfers to get into the fans' good graces."

"IS ANYONE TALKING ABOUT FALCAO OR VAN PERSIE?"

Responding to criticisms of the transfers during his own term, Fikret Orman said: "Management is different from being a fan. You will do what you think is right; you can make mistakes. There were mistakes in my transfers too, but I have never seen transfers talked about as much as they were during my term. Let's look at Galatasaray; is anyone talking about Falcao? Was the money they gave to Diagne ever talked about? Was Mustafa Muhammed talked about? Did they talk about the van Persie that Fenerbahçe bought? No. We hit 80-90 percent in transfers. We sold 33-34-year-old players. We sold Tosic, we sold Ersan."

"IN OUR TIME, FENERBAHÇE AND GALATASARAY BECAME BROTHERS"

Emphasizing brand value, Orman said: "In our time, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray became brothers. Had they been before? They were thinking about what they could do against me, against Beşiktaş, in the Union of Clubs. While Beşiktaş had such brand value, what is today's management doing? Nothing! Except for his own picture, there isn't a single nail he has hammered into the wall."

"ABDULLAH AVCI WAS NOT A MISTAKE"

Noting that Abdullah Avcı was not a mistake, Fikret Orman said: "Burak Yılmaz was taking penalties when I was there, they were booing him. Was there a reaction to Burak after me? Abdullah Avcı was not a mistake. We had signed a 3-year contract with the coach. We had also signed a 3-year contract with Şenol Güneş; that was my principle. There is no penalty clause in Abdullah Avcı's contract. Can a coach's contract be terminated via Twitter? Can such a thing happen! We made an agreement with you. I terminated your contract with Twitter. You go to court and get your money. They blamed this on me! The difference between this and Del Bosque is that the previous management brought him, and they fired him. I signed Avcı, the current ones fired him."

"I HAVE NO INTENTION OF RUNNING"

Stating that he has no intention of running for office right now, Orman said: "When I became a candidate, there was no one. If I hadn't become a candidate then, the presidential candidates for Beşiktaş would have been Nazmi Bey, the head of the Bakırköy association, and Bülent, the head of an association called Beşiktaş Friends. Now there isn't even such an association. Right now, Hasan Bey said, 'I am a candidate.' He is a man, a decent man. If he has an idea, he came out and said it. I was also coming out and talking about the management before me. Right now, candidacy or anything like that is not on my mind, and I have no intention, but on the day Beşiktaş needs me... I am not a Beşiktaş fan who became one later; I am a Beşiktaş fan from birth. Now young managers are coming out and talking. There are 5 pillars of Islam, the sixth is knowing your limits. I have been an athlete for this club."

"WOULD HE WORK WITH SERGEN YALÇIN?"

Answering the question about Sergen Yalçın, Fikret Orman said: "I love Samet Hoca and Ziya Hoca very much. I also love Sergen very much. I find it very valuable for him to be successful with this management at Beşiktaş. If I were president, would I work with him? That would be very sensational news. Tamer Tuna used to tell me, 'Sergen Hoca is very good tactically.'"

THE ISSUE OF DISCHARGE (IBRA)

Touching on the issue of discharge, Orman said: "They did not discharge me. Only me, as president. They discharged the board of directors. Why? Because Beşiktaş A.Ş. is not making a profit. Beşiktaş A.Ş. has been losing money for 4 years; are you not discharging yourselves?"

"IF ÇEBİ HAS THE COURAGE, LET'S GO ON TELEVISION"

Stating that he has 5 times the documents that Çebi has, Fikret Orman said: "I love Ahmet Nur Çebi's father very much, he has a son I love very much. I have been ashamed until today, but I also have children. From today on, whatever answer he gives, I have 5 times the documents of what he has; if he has the courage, let's go on television. Let him take his documents and his witnesses, and let's go. I am ready, there is nothing I am afraid of."
