Starting this season, the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League will be organized in a league format with 36 teams each, replacing the classic group stage.

In the Europa League, each team will face 8 opponents, with 4 matches at home and 4 away. In the Conference League, each team will compete against 6 opponents, with 3 matches at home and 3 away. Teams in both tournaments will be paired with two opponents from each of the 4 pots. In both tournaments, the teams that finish in the top 8 will advance directly to the round of 16. Teams finishing between 9th and 24th place in the leagues will compete in a play-off round to earn a spot in the round of 16. From the play-off round onwards, a two-legged knockout system will be used.

FINAL AT SAN MAMES

The final match of the Europa League, where the first matches will be played on September 25-26, will take place on May 21, 2025, at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.

The Conference League competition will begin with matches on October 3. The final of the tournament will be played on May 28, 2025, at the stadium bearing the same name as the city of Wroclaw, Poland.
