Flash move after the derby: Galatasaray files complaint against 2 Fenerbahçe players

The statements made by the managers following the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, played in the 25th week of the Süper Lig, continue to cause ripples in the football world.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk had lashed out at his arch-rivals' coach, Jose Mourinho, stating, "The Crying One's speech lasted a bit long. He is famous for crying, and he cried at length again. He cried in the referee's room, he cried inside... Let him keep crying."

On the other hand, the words "They jumped like monkeys," which Jose Mourinho uttered during his press conference, had sparked a major debate. Following this statement, Galatasaray announced that it would report the Portuguese manager to FIFA and UEFA.

However, the yellow-reds did not stop at just Mourinho. According to a report by Fanatik, the Galatasaray management has also taken action regarding Fenerbahçe's Mert Hakan Yandaş and İrfan Can Eğribayat. A formal application was made to the TFF Legal Department, citing Mert Hakan's gesture toward Napoli player Osimhen and the profanities used by İrfan Can after the match as grounds for the complaint.

It was noted that the penalty previously given to Mauro Icardi was cited as a precedent in the complaint petition. While the developments following the derby have further escalated the tension between the two clubs, it remains a matter of curiosity what decision the federation will reach.
