Footballer who punched referee arrested!
Emre Uyanık, a footballer for Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Gençlikspor, has been arrested for punching referee Batuhan Bolat during a match against İmranlıspor, the team featuring Ibrahima Yattara.
In Sivas, the Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Gençlikspor and İmranlıspor teams faced off last weekend in a Super Amateur League 1st Division play-off match.
The match referee, Batuhan Bolat, showed a red card to Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Gençlikspor player Emre Uyanık following a protest. After receiving the red card, Uyanık became angry and launched a punch at the referee. The assistant referee also intervened, reacting to the players involved in the attack. Following these events, the match was abandoned, and the footballer who threw the punch was taken into custody.
ARRESTED FOR INTENTIONAL INJURY OF A PUBLIC OFFICIAL
According to the information received, the police procedures for Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi FK team captain Emre Uyanık, who was detained for attacking Batuhan Bolat with a punch, have been completed. Referred to the courthouse, Uyanık was arrested by the presiding judge on charges of 'intentional injury of a public official' and sent to prison.
Guinean footballer Ibrahima Yattara had entered the match, which was abandoned by the referee, in the 68th minute.
