Former A National Team coach Çetin Güler passes away

The following statement was issued on the official TFF website:

"We have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Çetin Güler, one of the valued figures of Turkish football and a former coach of our A National Team and U21 National Team. Çetin Güler, who began his football career at Fenerbahçe, stepped into coaching after playing for Kasımpaşa, Hacettepe, and Gençlerbirliği.

Güler, who served as head coach for our U21 National Team, worked as an assistant coach for our A National Team during the Coşkun Özarı era between 1974 and 1975.

After serving as an assistant coach at Galatasaray, he worked as a head coach at clubs such as Kocaelispor, Diyarbakırspor, Altınordu, İskenderunspor, Giresunspor, Adana Demirspor, and Mardinspor.

Returning to the Turkish Football Federation in 1990 as a coach educator, Çetin Güler served Turkish football for many years as the Coach Education Manager and Coach Personnel Affairs Manager.

The funeral of Çetin Güler will be held tomorrow at the Büyükada Hamidiye Mosque following the afternoon prayer, after which he will be laid to rest at the Büyükada Tepeköy Cemetery. We wish God's mercy upon the late Çetin Güler and extend our condolences to his grieving family, loved ones, and the Turkish football community."
