Former national athlete working as a courier dies in traffic accident
In Samsun, 25-year-old Umut Can Turan, who worked as a motorcycle courier, lost his life after crashing into a parked semi-truck. It was revealed that Turan had previously represented Turkey as a national athlete in badminton.
In an accident that occurred yesterday evening in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun, the motorcycle driven by Umut Can Turan, who was on his way home after finishing work, crashed at high speed into the trailer of a semi-truck parked on the side of the road.
Citizens in the vicinity quickly notified medical teams and the police for Turan, who was severely injured by the impact.

COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
Medical teams reached the scene in a short time and, after providing initial intervention there, transported Turan to a private hospital. However, the young motorcycle courier could not be saved despite all interventions performed at the hospital and lost his life.
It was learned that Umut Can Turan, who left us at a young age, had once worn the crescent-and-star jersey as a national badminton athlete and represented our country in various organizations. Recently, he had been making a living by working as a courier.
Following the accident, the driver of the semi-truck, an Azerbaijani citizen named Nadir S., was taken into custody.
