In a statement from the Kalesija police, it was reported that the lifeless body of the Bosnian-born Turkish basketball player Pars was found in his home, and that medical teams arriving at the scene confirmed the information.
Born in 1976, Pars began his basketball career in 1992 with the Bosnian team Sloboda and moved to Turkey during the war that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995.
The former national basketball player Pars played for teams in Turkey such as Galatasaray, Tuborg Pilsener, Ülkerspor, TOFAŞ, Fenerbahçe, Efes Pilsen, Pınar Karşıyaka, Türk Telekom, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediye, and Erdemirspor.
Asım was a member of the Turkish National Team that finished second in the 2001 European Basketball Championship.
