Formula 1 excitement returns to Istanbul
Turkey is set to rejoin the prestigious Formula 1 motorsport calendar starting in 2026. With details to be announced by President Erdoğan, Istanbul Park is preparing to become the venue for major events once again.
After a long hiatus, Formula 1 races will once again be held in Istanbul. It has been announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will disclose the details regarding the process of Formula 1's return to Turkey at the Dolmabahçe Working Office. This announcement will focus on the completed tender process for Istanbul Park and the preparations made to bring Formula 1 back to our country in 2026.
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is also scheduled to attend the meeting. Domenicali is expected to share his views on the international cooperation between Turkey and Formula 1, as well as strategic planning for the future.
Following the meeting, Turkey's official position on the calendar and the duration of the agreement will be announced to the global public.
FIRST TIME SINCE 2021
Turkey last hosted Formula 1 in 2021. In the race held following a calendar change due to pandemic conditions, Valtteri Bottas, racing for the Mercedes team, took first place.
Now, all eyes are on Istanbul Park as it prepares to host world stars once again after three years and provide a grand spectacle for motorsport enthusiasts.
