Formula 1: The 17th race of the season, the Azerbaijan GP, begins

The excitement in the Formula 1 World Championship continues with the 17th race of the season, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The race, which will take place on the 6-kilometer-long Baku City Circuit in the capital Baku, will be held over 51 laps. Qualifying sessions will be run tomorrow at 15:00 TSI. AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX ROUTE

Security measures have been increased on the race route and surrounding streets, and the areas to be used as the track have been surrounded by barriers. Grandstands have been set up across from historical and cultural structures such as Azadliq and Azneft squares, as well as the Maiden Tower and the fortress gates along the route. The start of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be given from Azadliq Square. The cars will pass through the street along the Caspian Sea, circle the historic Old City (Icherisheher), and reach the finish line back at Azadliq Square. F1 drivers, who will cover a distance of approximately 6 kilometers per lap, will complete 51 laps on the track, which features 20 challenging turns.
