Fraud shock for Cristian Baroni!
Former Fenerbahçe footballer Cristian Baroni has stated that he was defrauded by his sister-in-law, Natalia, and his father-in-law, former footballer Baroninho.
Former Fenerbahçe footballer Cristian Baroni is trying to prove his case in court regarding assets worth 26.6 million Brazilian reais (5.5 million dollars).
While playing for Fenerbahçe in 2009, Cristian Baroni gave power of attorney to his sister-in-law, Natalia, and his father-in-law, former footballer Baroninho, to sign for his assets in Brazil. With the permissions granted by this power of attorney, loans were taken out in Cristian's name, cash withdrawals were made, checks were issued, and wire transfers were conducted. A total of 26.6 million Brazilian reais in transactions were carried out, including an active debt of 10 million Brazilian reais.
Appearing in court on November 13 regarding the 10 million Brazilian real debt, Cristian Baroni argued that he was the victim of a fraud and that he was unaware of the 10 million debt.
Cristian's sister-in-law, Natalia Baroni, stated in her testimony that her ex-husband, Fabio Martins, may have been involved in the suspicious transactions.
The court decided to locate Fabio Martins and have him testify, postponing the ruling.
