After sending left-back Renan Lodi to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for 25 million Euros, Olympique de Marseille is now interested in Galatasaray's left-back Angelino.
According to a report in L'Equipe, it has been learned that Olympique de Marseille's primary transfer target was Quentin Merlin, who plays for Nantes. Having failed to reach a desired outcome in that transfer, Olympique de Marseille has turned its focus to Galatasaray's left-back, Angelino.
Angelino was suggested to Marseille, who are looking for a more affordable full-back, and the French club responded positively to the proposal. Leipzig has also given the green light to Marseille, who are looking to sign Angelino on a permanent transfer.
Following these developments, Marseille has made contact with Angelino. It was noted that a result from these contacts is expected shortly and the transfer will take shape accordingly.
HIS PERFORMANCE AT GALATASARAY
Angelino, whom Galatasaray signed on loan at the beginning of the season with a mandatory 6 million Euro purchase option if he plays 20 matches, has played in 19 matches so far, recording 1 goal and 1 assist.
