Friendly match between Konyaspor and the Palestine National Team in Konya ends 2-2
Konyaspor and the Palestine National Team drew 2-2 in a friendly match at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium.
Konyaspor and the Palestine National Team faced off in a friendly match held in Konya, the Youth Capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The match, played at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium, ended in a 2-2 draw.
Green-and-white fans sent messages of support to Palestine before and throughout the match. The motto "Our home is your home" was prominent in the stands, and messages regarding Palestine and Gaza were also displayed in the stadium.
GOALS CAME ONE AFTER ANOTHER
The first goal of the match came as early as the 2nd minute. Melih İbrahimoğlu put Konyaspor ahead 1-0. The Palestine National Team equalized in the 12th minute with a goal from Sandouqa.
Sandouqa found the net once again in the 25th minute, putting the Palestine National Team ahead 2-1. Konyaspor brought the score to 2-2 with a goal from Mustafa Muhammed in the 28th minute. As there were no more goals in the remaining time, the match ended in a draw.
The match was officiated by referee Mehmet Türkmen. Türkmen was assisted by Abdullah Uğur Sarı and Arif Dilmeç.
Before the match, the choreography prepared by Konyaspor fans featured the phrase, "Be silent when children are sleeping, not when they are dying." Messages supporting Palestine were also displayed on the advertising boards.
The match between Konyaspor and the Palestine National Team concluded with an announcement made at the 89th minute and 59th second: "Postponed until Palestine is free."
After the match, Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Konya Governor İbrahim Akın, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, and protocol members presented flowers to the Palestine National Team players.
