Friendly match: Fenerbahçe: 0 - Hajduk Split: 1
Fenerbahçe was defeated 1-0 by Croatian side Hajduk Split in their third friendly match as part of their 2024-25 season preparations.
Fenerbahçe, currently in Austria for the second stage of their new season preparations, played their second friendly match there.
Playing effectively in attack against their opponent Hajduk Split, the yellow-navies could not capitalize on the chances created by Dzeko, Krunic, and Fred in the first half, and the teams went into the locker room with a goalless draw. The Croatian team, which took the lead with a goal from Bruna Durdov in the 85th minute of a balanced second half, finished the match with a 1-0 victory.
Head Coach Jose Mourinho started the match with the following starting 11: Dominik Livakovic, Levent Mercan, Rodrigo Becao, Alexander Djiku, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bartuğ Elmaz, Fred, Rade Krunic, Cengiz Ünder, Ryan Kent, and Edin Dzeko. In the second half, Mourinho gave playing time to Yusuf Akçiçek, Emre Mor, Sebastian Szymanski, İrfan Can Eğribayat, Miguel Crespo, Yiğit Efe Demir, Miha Zajc, Umut Nayir, and Luan Peres.
Fenerbahçe will play one more friendly match at their Austria training camp. The yellow-navies will face Strasbourg on Saturday, July 13.
Fenerbahçe played their first pre-season friendly match against Romania's Petrolul Ploiesti at the Topuk Yaylası Facilities, winning the contest 2-1. In their second friendly match, held during the Austria camp, the yellow-navies drew 1-1 with Austrian side Admira Wacker.
